Bela injured — had to cancel the semi-final in Santander: ”Played well”

It will not be a second straight final for Fernando Belasteguin and Sanyo Gutierrez on the World Padel Tour.  Due to an injury in his calf, Belasteguin was forced to stop the game in the semi-finals in Santander against Javi Rico and Jeronimo Gonzalez Luque.

The score was 3-1 in advantage for Fernando Belasteguin and Sanyo Gutierrez when ”Bela” just laid down on the court, saved one ball in a lying position, and then raised his hand as a sign stop the game. He quickly decided that the game was over.

— We did not deserve to play this final but tomorrow, we will turn up and do our best and let us hope that Bela recovers soon. A heart to him, these things happen in sport, says Javi Rico. 

So no ”dream final” between Bela/Sanyo and Juan Lebron and Ale Galan, but a final for the first time together for Javi Rico and Jeronimo Gonzalez Luque.

— I wish Bela a sweet recovery, they played well, and I hope Bela recovers quickly. I am happy to go to the final, but this way is strange. I want to thank my family who traveled all night from Malaga for this game, says Jeronimo Gonzalez Luque.
